Butter Swimming Biscuits

Biscuits so good you'll want to serve them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to a medium bowl. Use a whisk to sift ingredients.
  3. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until mostly combined, being careful not to overwork the batter.
  4. Pour the melted butter into an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  5. Place the dough on top of the butter, and use a spatula (or your hands) to evenly spread the dough out to the edges of the pan.
  6. Cut the unbaked dough into 9 squares (3x3 pattern).
  7. Bake for 28 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Allow the butter to be absorbed into the biscuits before cutting and serving.
